Why did Daft Punk break up?

Daft Punk, a group formed by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, have officially separated, according to their publicist who dished the news to Variety magazine.

The group shared a video featuring Thomas and Guy walking around the desert in their well-known helmets they use to conceal their identity.

One of the helmet-clad men then looks at the other, takes off his leather jacket and shows off an energy pack on this back.

Laurent left the band and formed his own called Phoenix.

Daft Punk officially released their first single, New Wave in 1994.

Two years later they debuted their first studio album, Homework and became one of the biggest records of the year.

With the success they received, Thomas and Guy released their second project, Discovery, at the beginning of the new millennium.

Their single One More Time made the list of the 500 greatest songs of all time by Rolling Stone.
