You knew this had to happen, right? Two and a Half Men has been on a steady decline since Charlie Sheen left the show, and it seems it finally caught up with it. Two and a Half Men has been given an execution date. Don’t worry, they have given it enough time to make peace with their family and friends, but after the twelfth season the show is over for good. Of course, syndication will ensure it is never really gone for good.
The ratings for Two and a Half Men has been slowly dipping lower and lower. On top of that, as many if you know, a lot of TV has been getting chopped lately. While most of us just assumed it was all new shows, such is not the case. They will allow the show to round out its twelfth season, but after that, it’s gone. The Sheen factor has a lot to do with this, as does the case of Angus T. Jones finding God and speaking out against the show every chance he gets. When your main star gets killed off, and the little kid everyone tunes in to watch grows up and is all angry and hates the source material, that tends to ensure a shorter shelf life. That seems to be just what happened here.
Failing ratings didn’t help, either. Best of luck to Jon Cryer, though. He seems like a genuinely nice dude.
