Shareef O’Neal is an American professional basketball player who has represented, as a power forward/center, the NBA G League Ignite (2022-Present), a developmental basketball team based in Henderson, Nevada, in the NBA G League, the official minor league basketball organization of the NBA (National Basketball Association), a professional basketball league composed of 30 teams (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada). Shareef joined the NBA G League Ignite in September 2022 after he was not selected in the 2022 NBA Draft. He had to sign up with the team as a veteran player since he was eligible in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Shareef had attended Windward School, an independent school in the Mar Vista neighborhood of his hometown of Los Angeles. In June 2016, it was announced that he had taken a transfer to the Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences, a private, K-12, independent, college preparatory school in Santa Monica, California.
He verbally committed to joining the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), a public land-grant research university in Los Angeles, in February 2018. He joined the UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team in August 2018.
In February 2020, Shareef announced that he would be taking a transfer to Louisiana State University (LSU), a public land-grant research university in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where his father played college basketball. There, he represented the LSU Tigers men’s basketball team until 2022. In June 2022, he declared for the NBA Draft after he was mistakenly placed on the list of early entrants who had withdrawn from the draft.
