Robert De Niro is the man. I truly believe there are very few souls alive today who would argue that. He has been a staple in good films for thirty plus years now, and isn’t looking to slow down anytime soon. But in a very interesting move on the actor’s part, seems he is selling half of Tribeca entertainment, which he himself founded. Though it may seem an odd choice (to sell half of a company that is worth almost fifty million dollars), but it was a very business oriented move for the actor and businessman.
Basically, selling half will allow him to partner up with other film makers and actually get more involved with his Tribeca film festival. It allows him some space to step back and at the same time, still maintain a certain level of control. It is actually an oddly complicated move you can find out more about by clicking on over to Contact Music. While it may seem complicated to some of us on the outside of the industry, you need to just assume De Niro knows what he is doing here. He is De Niro after all.
Some people are just finding the timing very strange, as Robert De Niro’s Tribeca film festival is just three weeks away. Others think that it is a great way to bring some more attention to the New York film festival. This is also the first year tickets are being sold, so who knows? You have enough cash, you could be rubbing elbows with Bobby De Niro. How surreal would that be?
