Are you a believer in Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott as a couple? I mean, I think they’re together and they care about each other. But I think their relationship was pretty casual when Kylie got pregnant, and I think it’s still pretty casual. I sort of applaud Kylie for not trying to package the relationship as destined for marriage, or announcing an engagement along with the pregnancy. She just does her own thing and raises Stormi at her house, and Travis stops by sometimes. Apparently, that’s enough for a GQ cover to celebrate their relationship though. You can read the full GQ piece here – I found it interesting, but honestly, these two are just dumb kids. Some highlights:
How they met, according to Kylie: “We don’t go on dates,” Kylie tells me. In fact, their first date wasn’t really a date. They were at Coachella—neither can remember where, exactly, they first met—and the whole thing just turned into a hang that went well. While she tells me about it, she begins to giggle about the story she told Travis that got his attention that night. The story wasn’t anything special, but that’s what made it real… Coachella was one of the stops on his tour. So he said, ‘I’m going back on tour—what do we want to do about this?’ Because we obviously liked each other. And I was like, ‘I guess I’m going with you.’ So I just went on tour…I really jumped on the bus. And then we rode off into the sunset. I did the whole tour with him.”
Travis on whether he worries about ‘the Kardashian Curse’ where every relationship falls apart: “I don’t even be looking at motherf–kers. I don’t be looking at sh-t. Kylie actually likes me for me. Man, hell nah. Nervous for what? I’m on my own island. So hey, come over there to Astroworld. I’m not into all the other sh-t. I don’t get involved. I’m over here. Kylie is different.
Kylie on The Kardashian Curse: “That’s exactly what it is [they fly too close to the sun]. They come and can’t handle it. Well, for all the news stories, it’s how I get over them so fast. Trav, for example, he’s like, ‘Wait…but how do you just get over this?’ He gets more angry about things. It’s not just him. It’s Jordyn [Kylie’s best friend] who I’ve seen affected. It’s everyone around us that aren’t used to it. And we’re just like, “Oh, that’ll go away in a day.” I know these stories aren’t going to matter, so don’t even let them affect you, you know? I think you’re correct. But it’s not just men—it’s friends, it’s people who come and just don’t know how to handle it. It’s the negative. There’s a lot of people who love us, but there’s also a huge handful of people who don’t like us.
I didn’t know that they met at Coachella and she just got on the tour bus with him and that’s how they started. That’s interesting. And it also puts the timeline of their relationship all over the place? She really did get pregnant within A FEW DAYS of meeting Travis, by my calculations. She met him at Coachella 2017, went on the tour bus and literally nine months later, she gave birth to Stormi? Unless she’s trying to say that they met at Coachella 2016, which would mean that she was dating Travis and Tyga at the same time, because Tyga was definitely still around throughout 2016 and early 2017. This is a mess.
