Damon Berryhill is an American professional baseball player. He played for the Chicago Cubs, the Atlanta Braves, the Boston Red Sox, the Cincinnati Reds, and the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was a catcher. He also managed the AAA Gwinnett Stripers.

Damon’s first cousin is musician Cindy Lee Berryhill. He is also a second cousin, once removed, of surfboard shaper Dale Velzy. Damon’s great-grandparents John Berryhill and Alice Keene were the siblings of Dale’s grandparents George Berryhill and Ada Keene, brothers marrying sisters.

Damon’s paternal grandfather was Gordon Arthur Berryhill (the son of John Berryhill and Alice Keene). Gordon was born in Michigan. John was born in either Ohio or Ontario, to Irish immigrants, John Berryhill and Jane Hodgins. Alice was born in London, England, the daughter of William Edmund Brook Keene and Fannie/Fanny Gillmore.

Damon’s paternal grandmother was Fay Wenonah Grant (the daughter of William J. Grant and Orville J. Smith). Fay was born in South Carolina or Louisiana. Damon’s maternal grandfather was Howard Lester Patchen (the son of Jay Judson Patchen and Adda Marie Woodruff). Howard was born in Illinois. Jay was the son of Sylvanus A. Patchen and Mary A. Crouse. Damon’s great-grandmother Adda was the daughter of John Woodruff and Mary Ann Thomas.
