    Cameron Norrie Facts

  • Cameron’s family had emigrated to Auckland, New Zealand when he was 3 years old after a burglary incident at their home. In 2011, aged 16, he had moved to London and had completed his high school studies.
  • Between 2010 and 2013, he had represented New Zealand at the junior tier and had reached as high as world number 10. However, poor funding from Tennis NZ meant that his parents had to finance his overseas travels. In April 2013, due to this issue, he had switched his allegiance to Great Britain, the nationality of both his parents.
  • In 2014, he had temporarily moved to the United States because he was facing difficulties on the European tennis circuit. During his stint at the Texas Christian University, he had become the top-ranked male college tennis player in the US, the first time that the university had earned such an honor. He was an All-American thrice. In the 2016–17 season, he was the only player to win every ‘Big 12’ match that he had participated in, amassing a 10–0 win-loss record.
  • After turning professional in 2017, he had returned to the United Kingdom and settled in London. When the Indian Wells Masters tournament was canceled in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic outbreak, he had flown to New Zealand to spend the rest of the year with his parents who were still living there.
