Fans may know that, before welcoming Blue Ivy, Beyonce suffered two miscarriages and while that’s not an easy thing to go through, during a new interview, the singer revealed it helped her find a ‘deeper meaning’ in life! Apparently, Queen Bey realized something major and was sent on a whole ‘quest’ to really find herself by those two tragic losses.
While chatting with ELLE Magazine, the superstar got candid about her journey to becoming a mother, which was obviously not an easy one.
Today, she is the happy mom of three children as Blue is the big sister of twin siblings Sir and Rumi.
Beyonce shared with the magazine that after losing multiple pregnancies, ‘I began to search for a deeper meaning when life started to teach me lessons I did not know I needed. Now, success looks really different to me. I learned that all of the pain and loss is actually a gift. Having miscarriages taught me I had to mother myself before I could be a mother. Then I had Blue, and the quest for my purpose became much deeper. I died and I was reborn in my relationship, and the quest for self became even stronger.’
She went on to explain that ‘It’s difficult for me to go backwards. Being ‘number one’ was no longer my priority.’
Of course, Beyonce will always be a huge star but it seems like her priorities shifted a little.
This is not the first time she opens up about the two miscarriages.

In her 2013 documentary, Life Is But A Dream, she called it ‘the saddest thing I’ve ever been through. Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was just fine, but there was no heartbeat.’
